“Mutations”: A Surreal Exploration of Transformation

You are invited to Mutations, a solo exhibition by Rio Bravo–born artist Luis L. López. Rooted in his lived experience between Mexico and the United States, López presents a compelling body of work that explores transformation through a surreal lens. This series reflects on environmental, spiritual, personal, and collective societal mutation, interwoven themes expressed through symbolism, texture, and emotional depth. With a blend of surrealism and cultural memory, Mutations invites viewers to contemplate how we evolve in response to inner and outer worlds. The exhibition will be on view from April 25 to June 6, 2025, at the Metropolitan Cultural Space (METRO) in Tampico. Join us for the opening reception on April 25 at 6:00 p.m.
